As in ones where you get sick to your stomach whenever it airs, and you have to change the channel.

I'll start:

1.2009 vs Pittsburgh (argh, just bitter)

2.2011 vs SJ (close but no cigar)

3.1996 vs Colorado (Best reg. season ever)

4.1999 vs Colorado (Chance at 3peat and we blew it midway)

5.2012 vs Nashville (Losing in that crap arena on Lidstrom's final game with the damned fans chanting "You Suck")

'09 loss to the Pens Game 7 :pokey:

'04 loss to the Ducks ... great team with Cujo in nets ... on top of that Federov left ... :bye1:

'07 loss to the Ducks ... game 7, where they gave Datsyuk the tripping penalty if I remember right :nono::evil:

'99 loss to the Avs ... 3 time champ dream got flushed .... :blind:

'95 loss to the Devs ... :cup: Anytime you lose in the finals it hurts ...

For a team that has had a lot of success we sure had our heart breaking moments. I mean, sure we had more success then any other NHL team but our heart breaks have been much bigger then other teams due to the success we've seen. Look at our fan base, we had one bad off-season and everyone is about to burn the city down!

games I don't want to see again? Game 7 between us and Ducks in 2009 that we won 4:3 thanks to Danny's goal. Emotions is the most important factor - we were leading 3:0 skating to the 3rd period and then Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry started to click. I hate games like that. I want us clearly winning or at worst case clearly loosing. That game I'm talking about is a win for us. We almost found a way to loose.

I found myself watching the '09 Pittsburgh series on youtube last month - couldn't bring myself to watch game 7 again. Just couldn't do it.

'95 Devils was a bizarre loss - how could we lose 4-0 to them? was my overwhelming thought at the time.

'96 Avs was a soul-destroying loss, would we ever win a Stanley Cup? I remember Stevie Y saying he didn't want to leave the house all summer.

'12 Preds was pretty sucktackular all round.

i get sick to my stomach watching any series that the wings lose but the 09 finals was beyond brutal. blowing a 2-0 and 3-2 series lead and losing the cup at home?

i would rather get swept than lose game 7 at home

The worst one was 2009, by far. A game seven loss in the finals has to hurt more than anything. That and the fact that they paraded the cup around the Joe. What made it brutal for me was that as I was watching, I actually believed we were going to tie it up until the last second, even on Lidstrom's last shot. I was so sure it was going in. Then the other team started celebrating and the fall-out and realization of what happened was traumatic.

Haha, I'd post the video of that last shot but I don't have the heart to go looking for it.

1. 2009 vs Pittsburgh...Still have not seen a clip of game 7 (I missed the game due to my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary)

2. 2003 vs Anaheim...Not sure if we could have out played them anymore than we did, but Giguere was just lights out

3. 2001 vs Los Angeles...Everthing came unglued and the 3 goal comeback in game 4 was the beginning of the end

4. 1996 vs Colorado...All the winning up to that point meant nothing and a dream season was gone

5. 2004 vs Calgary...All the bounces Calgary got when they needed them and not one bounce went our way

6. 1995 vs New Jersey (Honorable Mention)...I wanted to crucify Mike Vernon

5 Series I could watch over and over again...

1. 2008 vs Pittsburgh...Obviously

2. 1997 vs Colorado...Finally got by our nemesis

3. 1997 vs Philadelphia...42 years of frustration was ended when the Captain hoisted the Cup

4. 2002 vs Colorado...The final chapter of the great rivalry and seeing Roy get pulled topped it off

5. 1996 vs St. Louis...Stevie Y's heroics in game 7 put him into the legendary category

Thing is, we actually didn't deserve to be 2-0 and 3-2 up. The only game we outplayed them the entire series was Game 5. The entire series we were so banged up we were just clinging on by our fingernails through sheer willpower

I did think we overachieved in 2009 as Datsyuk was injured throughout the entire playoffs; but even then we should have won the cup. Teams like the Canes and the Lightning overachieved and they went on to win game 7. I still can't believe our only scorer was Jonathan Ericsson that game.

agreed. osgood was our best player by far in that series.

if wings win the cup, osgood most likely gets the conn smythe, a 4th stanley cup and would most likely be a shoo in for the hall of fame

01 Kings, 03 Ducks, and 06 Oilers were by far the most embarrassing, frustrating series to watch. 01 the team lacked any drive, they were absolutely awful in Game 5 at home. 03 Ducks was like watching someone beat their head into a wall over and over and over and over and over and over again. All Giguere had to do was stand there, the Wings were going to shoot right at him. They created that monster. And there was no excuse for 06.

09 Penguins, 07 Ducks, 96 & 99 Avalanche, 94 Sharks, and 87 & 88 Oilers hurt. 09, soooo close. 07, watching Lidstrom lay his stick out and deflect that puck over Hasek, bad mistake. 96, great regular season, fell short, 99, up 2-0 and fell apart. 94, losing to San Jose in their first playoff series ever (stinkin' Jamie Baker). 87 and 88, the odds were long, going up against the Oilers, but I was 11 and 12 years old, so it still hurt. And I hated the Oilers then!

09 Penguins

96 Avs

95 Devils

94 Sharks

93 Leafs

Avs hated them ever since they changed from the Nordiques. Penguins one stings a bit still. Devils sweeping us Scott Stevens smoking Kozlov, they owned us that series. Osgood blunder vs the Sharks.

All give me nightmares still :(

Ozzie made a rookie mistake, Essensa single-handedly lost that 94 series. Despite totally dominating game 5 it was tied 4-4 with less than a minute to go because of terrible goaltending from Essensa. A rookie Czech d-man (I forget his name now) took a shot from the point that a child could have saved but Essensa let in.and he lost the game for us despite the fact that it looked like an NHL team playing against kids

Osgood was good all series except for the blunder in game 7. Essensa lost the first game with terrible goaltending, they put in Ozzie and he won 2 in a row before losing. With the series tied 2-2, they put in Essensa again and he single-handedly lost the game. Os good won game 6 and then we lost game 7.

Irbe had one of the greatest goaltending performances ever in that series

Yep, which is why I get annoyed when people like the one above blame Ozzie for the loss. Without Ozzie, there was no game 7. Hell, we wouldn't even have made it to the finals.

Simple. 1995 vs Devils. That one hurt.

This by far.

The Wings make finally make it to the Cup finals and it looks like this could be the season they end decades of misery. Only to be absolutely crushed by the Devils.

It felt like even though they got to the finals, they were still a long ways away from being a team capable of winning the Cup.

1.2009 vs Pittsburgh the dwarfs cocksuckers won just a damn shame

2. 2007 vs Anaheim ***** the cartoon franchise

3.1996 vs Colorado best regular season and then you lose to a hated rival, just a kick in the gut

4.1999 vs Colorado blew our chance to make history

5.2012 vs Nashville the team should be ashamed of that performance, this was the last game of our captain and despite Zetterberg and maybe White they've shown an overall crappy effort.
