Wingzman91 134 Report post Posted August 17, 2012 Scott Hannan has signed with the Nashville Predators, 1 year for 1 million. One less option on the board.

chances14 227 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 good signing for the preds. they need the veteran presence on the blue line, which hannan will provide and for 1m it's a good deal. however he was pretty awful in calgary last year, had a worse corsi rating than hal gill . probably will most likely be a 3rd paring dman for them. frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 You gotta wonder whom they are going to pair up with Weber? Josi would make the most sense but is he really ready for first pairing minutes?

predmonkee 47 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 A one year stop gap until more opens up next year. Better to sign him than trade some prospects or picks for someone else. In my perfect world, Josi would step in and skate with Weber. He has the potential but not sure if he can hold up the entire season on the #1 blue line. Hannan gives them another possible option and another veteran presence which we need on the blue line. Josi, Ellis, and possibly Blum or Eckholm..pretty young there

Exactly, and precisely why I wanted to see Detroit sign him. He's not great, but is capable defensively, kills penalties, and blocks shots. Would have been a solid, cheap signing for a year (or even two). Nice pickup for the Predators.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 Good pickup for Nashville. Was hoping Detroit would get him, especially at that price.

predmonkee 47 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 He'll make Nashville fans forget about what's-his-name. Not sure about that, but a solid matchup d man who can stay on the ice and eat a few pucks up. Hasn't missed hardly any games in his career, reliable for sure.

pondrocket 35 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 I liked him as a Shark. Did we even offer him anything, or does just no one want to sign with Detroit? Kenny prefers to pay these type of players 3 mil + a year. Kenny probably never thought he would go for a million.
