TheFourthPeriod says its for 6 years.

Kinda sucks, was hoping to make a shot for him next off-season.

Here's the TFP article:

If I die tell my wife I said, "Hello".

With the cap as it is, extending contracts is a breeze.

By the time next summer rolls around, there will be no UFAs left. Just like this summer. Kenny and co just have to keep trying to build through the draft.

Hartnell - Giroux - Simmonds
B. Schenn - Briere - Voracek
Fedotenko - Couturier - Talbot
Shelley - Read - Rinaldo

I melt.

By the time next summer rolls around, there will be no UFAs left. Just like this summer. Kenny and co just have to keep trying to build through the draft.

That wasn't Management's plan until Management was left with no other option. (Suter, Parise, Nash, Doan, 1st-rounder for Quincey, et al.)

Just sayin'.

"If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating, as possibility!" - Kierkegaard
