frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 I still couldn't care less it is just to soon since the last lockout. Also the BoG is a stupid gongshow, if this thing would be for real Mr. I, Dolan, Thompson, Acqelini and Tannenbaum should be in there, not some of Bettman's puppets. Whenever a deal will get done I expect 2 things: Fix the BoG regime FIRE the anti hockey man Sent from my BlackBerry

Euro_Twins 4,469 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 You know, there's something about this list...oh, I know! Rules? During negotiations? NHL? I laugh. Nhl negotiations are like a drinking game; 1. you make up the rules as you go along 2. most times before you can seal a deal someone gets fed up and goes home 3. you end up regretting it, someone loses all their money, and the game gets ruined for everyone 4. and you do it all again next weekend forgetting what happened the last time you did it... 3 55fan, haroldsnepsts and Rick D reacted to this

Sounds like another patented "Donald Fehr stall tactic" to me. He has done a great job at this for the last 5 months. Also reports that Backes has left the negotiations. 1 hillbillywingsfan reacted to this

LeftWinger 4,914 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 does anyone know if the topic of realignment is on the CBA's agenda? I was a bit excited with the new alignment and playoff format changing (not that it was perfect)
vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 Several mentions were made on Twitter last night that there wasn't even a whisper of realignment. Dan Rosen @drosennhl As it stands now, NHLPA is continuing with internal meetings and is planning to meet with the NHL at some point today. No time set. Dan Rosen @drosennhl According to NHLPA, the next meeting could still be without mediators, but they have requested for them to get involved.

vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 I don't necessarily agree, harold; this to me seems like a way to speed up the process - they know they're close.
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 I think both Bettman and Fehr were bored while the players/owners meeting was going on, so they took in a movie. It was after they saw this stirring speech when they just had to update their constituents on the negotiations and then injecting themselves into the negotiation process. http://youtu.be/Muz1OcEzJOs

I guess I took it more as a sign of the NHLPA feeling like the league is still not negotiating properly, but I definitely like your interpretation better. Euro_Twins 4,469 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) I just hope this does not fall apart because of contract length and 90 million dollars... they are so close to a deal it's ridiculous. The owners even caved on RFA and entry level restrictions, and extended maximum contract lengths to 7 years if you are re-signing on a team... EDIT: I find it funny how the moment Fehr and Bettman rejoin the talks everythings seemingly is falling apart... must just be a coincidence though...
