On the the way to the doc, 97.1 was talking about the Lions and then quickly mentioned something about "half a season and owners saving money" - not sure it anyone else caught the whole thing or if it had any relevance regarding the NHL...

also told that Pens owner Ron Burkle made his presence felt in the meeting so far today. I think the players are receptive to him...

This is what a lot of people were hanging on going into this....hoping that Burkle would somehow help.....player friendly and actual award winning labour negotiator.
