That's actually a really good article. Sounds like the author has identified Suter among the "third of the players" who are ignorant "cattle".

Thumbs up suter enjoy the next 13 years:) If you could do it again maybe you should think about the full status of your team your signing with instead about worring so much about $$$ signs.
I *rofled* at this. Isn't Suter like Weber represented by Titan Sports?

he should take his 10 million dollar signing bonus and go buy himself a private island somewhere to live on during this lockout so we don't have to listen to him complain
You don't have to read it if you don't like it. He has every right to be pissed so do the other players, usually both sides are signing contracts in good faith.
Blindsiding people is the exact opposite...

He had a front row seat when Leipold claimed the Preds to be a welfare case...Now as owner of the Wild - Leipold knew well in advance that there would be some salary "rollbacks" with the next CBA, and Suter was not smart enough to stay away from this clown.
Not saying Suter/Parise wouldn't have any changes in their contracts (or the amount they're getting paid in the end), but you'd think these guys woud've rather signed on with a club that has a great relationship with it's players **cough - Detroit - cough**.

No sympathy for Suter - what the hell did he expect?

Although I have some sympathy for him ...
I did expect Parise and especially Suter to take their time and look hard - note: let your agent(s) and business lawyer - check each each contract.
Then take another week or so to decide which one would be the lovable deal.
I really don't know why players are rushing things so quickly on July 1.
Hell even Shea Weber did so by signing an OS and n o t knowing that he doesn't have a no trade clause in it? Sure he has 110 m reasons to get over but, his agents really screwed that thing up.
I wonder if some of them are only looking for the money and not the best Interest of thei clients? Reminds me on a great film with Tom Cruise labeled game of life..

“I thought a lot about since what I said, I don’t question Craig Leipold and Minnesota with regards to negotiating our contracts in good faith. I don’t question that. That might have came off wrong. I don’t question that. It’s just frustrating. We just want to play. We support Don in what he’s doing. Obviously you sign a contract, and you want to hold true to that. I think, and I hope, everything works out.”
Do you feel that in the back of Leipold’s mind, he figured you’d take a haircut: “No, I honestly don’t feel that. It’s easy to think that or it might come off like that, but honestly, I know they’re good people. And I know they wouldn’t negotiate thinking, ‘OK, let’s give them this because it’ll end up being this.’ Because that’s not the kind of the people they are. So that came off wrong [in Suter’s original comments to ESPN the Magazine].”

That's what he gets for choosing a not-so-good team for more money over a team that many hold in the highest regard.
Huh?
Are you suggesting that if he signed with the Wings, that somehow the lockout wouldn't have happened?
