rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted November 15, 2012 http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=645758 Detroit Red Wings prospect, Marek Tvrdon, who leads the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League in scoring, will miss the remainder of the season due to a medical issue. "It's a tough day," Vancouver Giants coach Don Hay told the Vancouver Sun. "Marek's health is the most important thing and I've been told he won't be able to play again this season." The team would not confirm the injury, but the Sun is reporting the issue is a blood clot in the 19-year-old forward's arm. According to the Sun, Tvrdon took the pregame warm-up against the Prince George Cougars, but was seen at the bench talking to a trainer and points to his arm. He was scratched from the lineup and after the game Hay told reporters that Tvrdon had an infection in his arm.

Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted November 21, 2012 This news is terrible. This will surely hurt a prospect that looks to have a very bright future. Hope he gets well sooner than expected and laces 'em back up.

Jaymister 71 Report post Posted November 22, 2012 Too bad, he was playing on a week Giants team, but possibly could have been traded to better team later in the season. Hopefully he pulls through this ok.
