No, it's not, actually. That's the Americanized way of saying it. His grandfather clarified the proper pronunciation, which the announcers are using. They discussed it during one of the preliminary round games.

Edit-- WAY TO GO USA!!!!

Well, I'm a Finn, and none of the 100+ Pietilas I know use that pronounciation. We almost all use the Americanized way of saying our names.
