I would be excited if I had not heard that 2-3x already during these 'negotiations'.

First time I've heard that coaches were informed.

#CBA Don't be surprised that Fehr decided no on disclaimer. Union guy that believes in model. Been told he has advised against it repeatedly

NHLPA to hold 5pm conference call to provide update to players.#TSN

Craig Custance@CraigCustance

PA lawyers using Gary Bettman's own words from last night about disclaimer never being uttered as proof PA hasn't threatened to disclaim.

No word yet on when the NHLPA's second "disclaimer of interest" period would end.

Both the NHL and NHLPA use the media as their puppets. Most of the info out there is bogus and there are too many people trying to be the first one to report anything even if it aint true.

Judge Cecil Peoples gives the win to the guy selling $15 beers in the upper level.

Vegas has it at Fehr -430. Not very good value.

Kypreos says that there are internal battles between small market owners and big market owners over the $60 mil cap proposal. Says NY Rangers, Detroit, Vancouver don't want that # to go down. NHLPA may sit back and let them figure it out for 1 or 2 days. Right now Bettman has it at 60, Fehr at 65.

The Wings currently have 15 guys locked in for 2013-14 at $45 million.

Hope Fehr doesn't file disclaimer. There's no way a season would be lost based on the issues remaining but a season would be lost with bad time management and strategy.

So it sounds like Fehr is advising to the players not to do the disclaimer, and the players will pass through the vote and STILL give Fehr the discretion to file it or not? Wut?

Kenny needs the Cap at 65 so he can go after Getzlaf and Perry this summer who are UFAs.

A group of players and union staff have just returned to the NHL office. More pension talk, apparently.

And still no word whether or not both sides meet tonight...

On CBA length: NHLPA willing to go to 10 years with opt-out after Year 7; NHL at 10 years with opt-out after Year 8

players want expiry date to be June 30, NHL wants it to stay Sept. 15.

more and more issues pop up it seems like...

Still 7-8 unresolved issues between both sides but big ones are Year 2 cap, length of player contracts, pensions...

The vote to give the power to the NHLPA executive board to use the disclaimer as started and will end Saturday at 6pm.

Belief within PA that Bettman/Batterman pulled bait and switch after initial disclaimer deadline passed.

As I said this morning, the tone of talks changed with disclaimer off the table as an option. Thus it is being brought back.

As was the case this afternoon, Don Fehr is not part of the ongoing small-group pension meeting between the NHL and NHLPA.

Told decision last nite to not file disclaimer totally fell on Don Fehr.#NHLPA Board gave Don sole power to make the decision either way

Disclaimer thing is clearly a negotiation tactic. They'll pass the vote, Fehr again has the decision to file or not and he won't.

There's still no indication if a full NHL bargaining session will be held tonight.

Players on conference call were angry about the HRR dust-up with the league. Foul mood right now on players' side

The small pension meeting has ended. Players and union staff just left NHL office.

Players have been asked to limit public comments, but one NHLer said via text I could go w this: "The league is back to their old tricks."

so not looking good once again

Per the warning post listed in the thread title, I've deleted a few more posts.

Again, please keep the conversation relevant to the CBA negotiations.

Everyone who's participated in the thread to this point has made it abundantly clear how they feel about Bettman, Fehr, etc.

Here's the warning post again so people don't have to hunt back to #70

The owners vs. players debate has played out ad nauseum - please don't start it up again. We all know where everybody stands and no one's mind is going to change. Please discuss the details of the offers only.

Sounds like a political debate.

I've been saying from the beginning the owners need to decide what kind of system they want to play under. They're trying to take money from the players, but they're not all on the same page.

Maclean: not the worst idea for both sides to take a step back and regroup with more optimistic attitude

Needless to say this thing will go down the wire on Jan. 11th.
