Samuelsson

A: No, the NTC makes it a bad contract, otherwise yes.

B: Helm's, The other two lines have guys who like to shoot from the perimeter (Brunner and Zetterberg).

C: No, every scoring line needs a guy who likes to shoot.

D: Yes, he's done it before and we don't have anyone else

Helm

A: Yes, he's a thief's bargain for his intangibles

B: No, PP's are about scoring, Helm can't score.

C: Not much, if any. Maybe more assists with the right wingers.

D: No, Filppula or Franzen is.

White:

A: He'll get a contract similar to Ericsson's, but I don't think we'll resign him.

B: No, we need a more diversified defensive corps

C: Yes, but not as well (nobody can).

D: No, his play will force that. They'll give him a lowball offer and be o.k. with him signing somewhere else for more, a la Hudler.

A) Is he worth the 3 mil, 2 years, NTC contract?

It's a gamble, but yes. He's a proven winner and brings a good defensive game, and a heavy (logo seeking) RH shot.

B) Will he play best on Datsyuk's line, Zetterberg's line, Helm's line or Abdelkader's line?

My guess is he bounces between the 2nd and 3rd, with some injury time up with Dats.

C) Does his constant shooting mentality hurt or benefit the team?

Benefits. Every shot you don't take...

D) Serious question: would you play him at the point on the PP?

No, at least not on PP1.

Helm

A) Is he worth 2.15 mil annually for 4 years?

Yes.

B) Would you play him on the PP?

No.

C) Can he improve offensively?

Of course.

D) Would you say he's the 3rd most important forward on the Wings?

Absolutely not.

White

A) Predict the economics of his next contract

No way to do so until we see his mettle this season.

B) Would you offer him that deal?

Uhhh.... maybe? Depends on the deal and on his play. No way to answer this one.

C) Can he play well without Lidstrom?

Yes, but of course his level will drop. Whose wouldn't? Lidstrom could make me look like an all star.

D) Will his controversial public comments force Kenny to not offer him an extension?

This is silly. Of course not.

A) Is he worth the 3 mil, 2 years, NTC contract?

HELL NO. In this new cap structure Sammy is not worth 3 mill. He isn't 1/2 the player datsyuk is.

B) Will he play best on Datsyuk's line, Zetterberg's line, Helm's line or Abdelkader's line?

Helm's line. His constant shooting will cause loss of possession on dats and z's line. Helm can grind it out to get the puck back.

C) Does his constant shooting mentality hurt or benefit the team?

Depends how accurate he is this season... if past years are an indicator then yes, it hurts.

D) Serious question: would you play him at the point on the PP?

Leaves us vulnerable.

Helm

A) Is he worth 2.15 mil annually for 4 years?

YES

B) Would you play him on the PP?

NO

C) Can he improve offensively?

YES. Golfball on cement.

D) Would you say he's the 3rd most important forward on the Wings?

NO. That award goes to Fil.

White

A) Predict the economics of his next contract

2.5-3 mill per year

B) Would you offer him that deal?

Yes if no free agents available.

C) Can he play well without Lidstrom?

He will be exposed a little more.

D) Will his controversial public comments force Kenny to not offer him an extension?

Dunno.

Samuelsson:

A. No. The NTC makes it a bad contract.

B. I think he'll bounce between the 2nd and 3rd lines.

C. Benefits the team. You can never shoot too often.

D. Meh. I don't know. Maybe on the 2nd PP unit. He's got experience.

Helm:

A. Absolutely. He's one of the most underrated players in the NHL, in my opinion.

B. No. He's built for the PK.

C. I think so.

D. I'm not sure about 3rd, but he's a big piece to our team.

White:

A. Depends on how he plays this year. Around $3 mil/year seems about right.

B. We'll see how he plays. I don't mind him.

C. Yeah, although his play will suffer without Lidstrom, like everyone else.

D. Doubt it. He spoke his mind. Who cares? Players should be allowed to criticize an idiot when they see one.

Samuelsson

A) Is he worth the 3 mil, 2 years, NTC contract?

Yea, he's produced consistently, knows the system, fits in well with the team. His production last year was better than Ryan Smyth, Latendresse, Hornqvist, and Derek Roy.

B) Will he play best on Datsyuk's line, Zetterberg's line, Helm's line or Abdelkader's line?

He'll be up and down on the line up, Babcock we be switching people at the drop of the hat, I think he'll be playing on the top two lines in the beginning of the season a little more until we see what we have in Brunner.

C) Does his constant shooting mentality hurt or benefit the team?

That's what his strength is, missing the net and causing odd man rushes though do hurt the team.

D) Serious question: would you play him at the point on the PP?

He'd be in consideration.

Helm

A) Is he worth 2.15 mil annually for 4 years?

Absolutely

B) Would you play him on the PP?

Hell no

C) Can he improve offensively?

Yea, and I expect him to.

D) Would you say he's the 3rd most important forward on the Wings?

I struggle to say that, but i really want to say yes. He's so fun to watch, and having that speed out there on the forecheck, and penalty kill is very very important.

White

A) Predict the economics of his next contract

I expect around 3-4 million a year

B) Would you offer him that deal?

Yes

C) Can he play well without Lidstrom?

Ian White has put up 26 points with three teams in 10-11, 38 in 09-10, 26 in 08-09, 21 in 07-08, and 26 in 06-07 I mean it's pretty much a given that's he's going to give you 25ish points, he's a pretty good top 4 defenseman even without Lidstrom in the past, so I don't see why that would change.

D) Will his controversial public comments force Kenny to not offer him an extension?

I don't see that being a reason.
