Thoughts?

I find it pretty surprising but LA does have a good group of forwards...

Stewart has been putting up decent points for a player of his caliber who brings grit, it could be a good fit even though we have a logjam without injuries

Pavel datsyuk is the best player in the world because he snatches the puck from unsuspecting forwards, then dangles 2 defenceman, and follows it up by doing "the datsyuk" on his victims, then calmly skates back to his bench ,and goes home to his girlfriend back in the motherland.

We should be more focused on defense than offense right now

He's too gritty, Holland will avoid him like the plague.

Jim Vandermeer on waivers too. We could use him.

I hate to ask this - but why? If the answer is because our D didn't look slow enough and couldn't make a breakout pass to save their lives then Jim Vandermeer would be the one to pick up.

If Bert is really going to be gone for a prolonged period of time I'd claim him in a heartbeat.

No such thing as too much depth this "season." Or, if you're the Red Wings (who crumple when the wind blows, and slip on pucks in practice, and get their arms lacerated by skate blades), any season, really.

IF we were to trade away Franzen/Flip for a dman I would like this pickup from a "size" standpoint. He isn't a pure scorer but can add size and grit to our foward troop.

He makes less than a million per year and his contract is only through the end of this season...now I'd definitely claim him.

Definitely worth picking up at this point. The Red Wings need more muscle.

I hate his brother, so I say no.

Let him stay out of work.

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

Holland should be all over this, NOW! Especially with Bert out and Mursak losing his last chance at remaining on this team. Claim Stewart, waive Mursak and trade Emmerton, make Miller and Eaves your rotating forwards.

I wanted him in the past and I'd definitely want him now.  Currently with Helm on the IR and clearly Mursak (and most likely Bertuzzi) being placed on the IR I would think there would be space on the 23 mane roster.  I know McCollum is up and since Gustavsson is only scheduled to be out a couple games he may not be on the IR but I would think there would still be a spot open.

Any one know who has officially been place don IR and who hasnt?

Me too, so claim him and let him fight his bro when we play St. Louis next.  :D

I'm sure he'll be claimed by a team lower in the order than ourselves. If not, we should jump at the opportunity. Can never have too much depth.
