as a matter of fact, Holland would be an absolute jack ass not to claim this guy....6-3 230lbs who can also score 20+ points? It's a no brainer. Holland WTF are you waiting for? This should already be done!

as a matter of fact I would have already claimed Adam Pardy as well, and boot Kindl to the curb.

He punches people in the face and Holland, Nill and Devellano all hate those type of guys. Those type of players are "outside their comfort zone" as Holland said when they reluctantly brought in Toots.

I have a feeling Babcock doesn't agree with them, from reading his quotes about tough guys and what guys like Downey or McCarty brought to the team.

He certainly doesn't, which is why it's probably so frustrating for him. He asks for tough players and he gets old declining Brad May. Thanks Kenny!

I hate to ask this - but why? If the answer is because our D didn't look slow enough and couldn't make a breakout pass to save their lives then Jim Vandermeer would be the one to pick up.
Jim Vandermeer on waivers too. We could use him.

Another question is why has Vandermeer played for 7 different teams in 10 years?

There must be something about him because why would all 30 teams pass on him?

edit: I wonder if teams contacted him and he said, listen I really do not want to play on your team, so please don't claim me....of course that wouldn't work with the Isles....

don't put jimmy d in that group. examples: Probert and Kocur. Both were drafted by him, fought to be kept around by him (ref Proberts drug issues), Mccarty another one of his guys, lapointe, grimson, etc...
