WingsallTheway 383 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Thoughts? I find it pretty surprising but LA does have a good group of forwards... Stewart has been putting up decent points for a player of his caliber who brings grit, it could be a good fit even though we have a logjam without injuries https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie Edited January 21, 2013 by WingsallTheway

Jusek 437 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Jim Vandermeer on waivers too. We could use him.
swedishconnection 36 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Jim Vandermeer on waivers too. We could use him. I hate to ask this - but why? If the answer is because our D didn't look slow enough and couldn't make a breakout pass to save their lives then Jim Vandermeer would be the one to pick up. kipwinger 8,458 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 If Bert is really going to be gone for a prolonged period of time I'd claim him in a heartbeat. 2 LeftWinger and esteef reacted to this
Dabura 12,205 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 No such thing as too much depth this "season." Or, if you're the Red Wings (who crumple when the wind blows, and slip on pucks in practice, and get their arms lacerated by skate blades), any season, really. 1 Z Winged Dangler reacted to this
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 IF we were to trade away Franzen/Flip for a dman I would like this pickup from a "size" standpoint. He isn't a pure scorer but can add size and grit to our foward troop.
kipwinger 8,458 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 He makes less than a million per year and his contract is only through the end of this season...now I'd definitely claim him. 1 LeftWinger reacted to this
RyanBarnes! 293 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Definitely worth picking up at this point. The Red Wings need more muscle.

LeftWinger 4,914 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Holland should be all over this, NOW! Especially with Bert out and Mursak losing his last chance at remaining on this team. Claim Stewart, waive Mursak and trade Emmerton, make Miller and Eaves your rotating forwards.
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 I wanted him in the past and I'd definitely want him now. Currently with Helm on the IR and clearly Mursak (and most likely Bertuzzi) being placed on the IR I would think there would be space on the 23 mane roster. I know McCollum is up and since Gustavsson is only scheduled to be out a couple games he may not be on the IR but I would think there would still be a spot open. Any one know who has officially been place don IR and who hasnt?

uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 I'm sure he'll be claimed by a team lower in the order than ourselves. If not, we should jump at the opportunity. Can never have too much depth.
martinezsvsu 240 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 hell yes we should claim him. we need size, hes a righty, hes cheap. i dont see why not. i do hate his brother though

frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Well since the Wings are currently last, why not at least a little bit of depth lol
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) if you hate the guy - he's probably the kind of player we need. i hate corey perry but would give anything to have him on our team. I'd love to get Perry but I think Getzlaf and he are going to re-sign with Anaheim.

GMRwings1983 8,789 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) There's a good reason why he has been waived twice: he's not very good. Actually, his numbers are really good for a 4th liner. Better than most of our crap. BTW, I still think we should sign Mike Grier. Edited January 21, 2013 by GMRwings1983
LeftWinger 4,914 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 waivers are determined by league standing, right? The Wings are currently tied for last ha ha thank you St. Louis ACtually since there are a few teams with 0 points, I think the tie breaker is goals scored and well......0 for us! Of course if we are the first ones to have a crack at him, it's been awhile since he has been on waivers and well, if Holland was first, he must have said no thanks....idiot. Oh, but I bet he nabs Lilja.
