I always liked Ryder. I watched him play a lot of games in Boston and he was a legit scoring threat. He was a FA, I don't know why Holland didn't try to sign him, he got a pretty good contract.

If he had better defense in front of him, I'd say 1/4 to 1/3 of the goals he's given up, he wouldn't have. Yes, it comes down to the goalie doing his job, but if you have sieves in front of your net, it doesn't matter if you have Terry Sawchuk between the pipes.
