Adidarw 35 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 SOURCE - http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=13234&navid=nhl:topheads This is an absolute steal for the Sharks. Gomez did get bought out, so he doesn't really need a big contract right now. But damn, this is a great deal for the Sharks.

frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 Low risk signing for 700.000 don't know where he will fit but maybe they are using him as a 3rd liner or some kind of mentor to the young guys like Couture.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 talk about a drop in contract cap... good for him, and great god - what a steal for Sharks. even if it's one year the guy should be poised to prove everybody wrong. unless he pulls a.... mmmm... Scott Gomez... and scores 2 goals the entire season 1 Adidarw reacted to this
St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 My dad in nor Cal says they don't need him being a Sharks fan of course. Apparently 1 goal a season is worth $700,000 now days. Dang
Guest Crymson Report post Posted January 23, 2013 This is a guy who failed utterly to perform on a huge contract. UTTERLY! He went more than one full year without a goal, and he's completely useless when he's not scoring. So please explain to me how this signing falls into the "OMG WHAT A STEAL!" category. Marty Barry 230 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 I jist wanna give a shout to my boy Doug E. Doug for signing the G-unit before the K-Dogg could! Big ups! Yo, Emmdogg fans. Did I do it right? Apparently not, only supposed to have 1 Doug E. Doug pic. Guess I'm special needs like our PP.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 Relatively low risk, high reward. It's hard to think he'll go on a dry spell like the last one. I haven't seen much of Gomez the last couple seasons though so i can't really speak to what the hell happened to him.

Ya, dunno what went sour for him, but with our lack of scoring, $700g would have been well worth a risk...i know he had the one goal thing, but you got to believe a new team could breathe some new life.... 13dangledangle 965 Report post Posted January 24, 2013 Who wants this guy at any price?! Crazy but awesome the sharks picked him up as we will get to see him 3 times this season, unless he's in worcester by then...
