Is it me or is it when we lose or are losing to Columbus. It stings worse than losing to any other of the 29 teams in the league? Including the Sharks and Pens.

Bert and Cleary look completely out of it today.

This had letdown game written all over it so no surprise, but still I have hope we can squeeze out a point somehow. Columbus is not a good team and you can see them having issues defensively.

Team is capable of scoring 2 or 3 in the third. PP is killing us this game go figure....

Gotta love how the Wings ALWAYS seem to allow a shorthanded team to have a great rush up the ice for a SH chance...

But we'd be much better off with those 6 and 7 million dollar goalies.  We're not the team anymore that scores 3+ goals a game and gives up around 25 shots.  We need a goalie to carry this team.  

 

Look at his save percentage this season.  I realize the defense is terrible, but that's what great goalies do.  They carry their teams into the playoffs despite crappy play around them.  Howard is a solid netminder, but he's not elite enough for a team that doesn't have enough talent surrounding him.  

 

It all comes back to Kenny and the mediocre roster he allowed us to be left with.

good lord our PP is a disaster

 

every team has the same strategy against it- pressure

 

they follow us all over the ice, and we should be able to counter it with quick, accurate passes and fast thinking but no one seems to be on the same page

 

or whatever, getting frustrated here

How can Nyquist and his skill still be in the minors when Bertuzzi and Cleary are here in prominent roles? That's inexcusable. There's a spot for Nyquist playing top-six minutes if they cut the dead weight out.

Teams realize our powerplay is weak and lacks confidence, so they attack us more.  It's natural.  That's why we give up so many shorthanded chances.  

 

I hope White will help improve that, but I doubt he alone will be enough.
