He's been playing decent out there this season, atleast the past 4 games i'd give him. His saving grace is the fact that he's used as a center in our system, and our depth there isn't that great. I would say that his value is going up, and he'd be apart of a package, but i'm not sure we want to get rid of the 4th line center with helmer going down so frequently. He's been on the PK also, and doing a decent job.

Axe, by the way buddy, this is YOUR thread my man.

Yah! I am glad people are just starting to take Emdog for what he's worth. A guy who knows his damn role and shuts his damn mouth!

I must be the only one who liked what I saw from Chris Conner when he was here.  He had more jump, had better speed, through more hits, and was more effective on the ice than Emmerton, Mursak, and any of the other guys rotated up for a few games.  The guy was flying.  As much as I like Clears, Conner was more effective.

If Abby isn't going to score once in a while on Helm's wing, then I think a fourth line of Conner-Abby-Toots could be really effective.

Other than him getting injured, what am I missing?

I agree 100% with ya on Conner!!!

He's a good 13th forward. Thats all. People want him to be Draper, but he's not and never will ne. You just gotta like Emdog for what he does- fills in for injured guys.

I'd settle for Maltby, or Mac, or Devereaux, or Stacy Roest, or Matt Hussey...or anyone else who's no longer on the team. :)

Ok, just kidding, I don't have any problem with Emmy. I doubt many others would either if injuries weren't putting him in the lineup every game.

Like I said before, Babcock should sit Cleary and make the 4th line Miller - Emmy - Eaves.  Then have the 3rd line Abby-Helm-Tootoo....

Bring Fedorov Home For A Day!

He Needs To Retire A Red Wing.

When Gordie Leaves Us, the NHL MUST Retire The #9.

I don't think anyone has said Emmerton is bad, he just adds nothing to this team. So people aren't sentimental about seeing him go.
Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

Nope, I said it. I stick by it too. Emmerton is trash, we have enough trash. Get rid of Emmerton, Cleary, Quincey, Kindl, and Mursak, for starters

Emmerton got his goal for the year, now he's done. He will float as long as  babs lets him

Are you confident enough to stop using Emdog if he does not score?

Funny, all summer and lockout you argued that he was a regular and that "We would see".

Frankly, this team has absolutely zero need for a regular 13th forward who will always be a 13th forward. We have Nyquist, Tatar, & Andersson, & Jurco and others as well who could fill that position from time to time and be better served from it.

"Emdog" is dead wood. Hopefully the Wings can get something for him.
