DSM 114 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) I know that. It's just the game that sticks in my mind for Joey. That was terrible what Babcock did to McCollum. I wouldn't really put all the blame on Babcock. The team was playing like garbage, and McDonald wasn't having a good game. Most coaches switch out a goalie if they are having a bad game. McCollum let in three really bad goals though, on only 8 shots... Edited February 7, 2013 by DSM

CrimsonFlame 424 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 atleast one thing is for sure; the kid can celly hard That's awesome. I love the emotion. And I think it's apparent we could obviously use a little heart on this team right now. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 atleast one thing is for sure; the kid can celly hard I remember watching! Good on him. There is usually so much more pride when winning for your country and kids around your own age. I don't think you'll see that kind of celebration when he's up in the NHL. I don't think you'll see that kind of celebration when he's up in the NHL. Absolutely, but he still is young so we may see some antics out of him, I remember watching the World Juniors and everyone was getting on his case because of his "crease" dancing. What else do you want him to do? Everyone else on the team is over there hugging and telling each other good job while the tendy just chills in his zone celebrating by himself. Like you said, at least he shows emotion and heart
TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 Def not gonna get my hopes too high and expect the kid to be the second coming of Dominik Hasek. But it is nice to see us give Jimmy a break finally.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Put Flip or Z on D tonight for the entire game... Would help decrease turnovers and help build Petr's confidence. Wonder if the announcers with get his name right Edited February 7, 2013 by Rivalred
derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I think it's the right decision to bring him against a stronger Team like the Blues. If he were in goal against the Flames you could bet that some would have blamed him also. Losing against a stronger team will ease that risk, although he might get few more or more dangerous shots on his goal. But lets hope he can stand this and I wish him all the luck he needs to suceed. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I think in the back of Babcocks mind he isn't expecting to get much of a result tonight anyways even if he started Jimmy. Why not throw Mrazek in and see if it gives the team a little spark. I like the move. If he gets shelled against the best team in the conference it wont hurt his confidence as much as if he would have gotten shelled against a lower team. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 Trial by fire. One of the best teams in the league, on the road. Time to watch the goalie of the future do what he does tonight: Win. 2 SaCkaveli20 and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Euro_Twins 4,469 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Ok, someone needs to settle down hahahaha I was over exaggerating yes, but I was annoyed about looking around the boards and seeing every person whining about how we were losing because of howie. Howie is a great goalie, and people take it for granted, and blame everything on him and start Howard=Average threads, it's just annoying. He has by far been the most consistent player on the wings, and aside from Z has been the best 1 derblaueClaus reacted to this
jollymania 162 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Good game by mrazek, not great but he made some timely saves. Now what they heck is going on with the stl goalies i wonder, first to worst.
chances14 227 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 While mrazek did well tonight, lets not jump the gun. Jimmy Howard won his first career game but it was an uphill climb for a few years after that. Lets see what happens when the defense isn't playing well and mrazek has to stop several good scoring chances. 1 RedWingsExpert1988 reacted to this
