Just so people are clear, Tim Thomas still doesn't plan on playing this season. This a cap move by the Isles.

Technically his contract ends this season but as Lebrun points out, they may try and toll it.  Then things get interesting.  It could be Nabokov all over again.

So go ahead and toll it, make him play for you. That'll make you look appealing to nobody ever.

Well he was suspended by the Bruins for not reporting and I think is somewhere in Colorado.  He may not even be aware he was traded.

You make it sound like he was suspended on bad terms. The GM and coach and everyone knew he was not playing this season, because he had family issues, and they understood that. They had to suspend him as to not have to pay him
