Because he was absolutely awful the first few games and wasn't very good the end of last season.  

 

Once a player becomes a scapegoat he's doomed for a long while.  Some people here are still bashing Ericsson for his play. 

 

Quincey hasn't scored a point all season, and for his price tag and that first round pick, that's pathetic.  

 

Can't believe people are defending him because of plus/minus.

Sick of players playing horrible getting rewarded with more minutes. If we can see Cleary is playing terrible out there, how can babcock not? They watch tape after tape after tape breaking down games. I'm sure 20 seconds into the tape you will see all you need to see.

Stop looking at plus/minus. This is a perfect example of why the stat is often misleading. Ericsson and Lashoff have been our most consistent which kinda tells the season story this far...

I'm looking at his play. Apart from the first few games, he's been solid. I have no idea, nor do I give a f*** what his plus minus is.

I think it's because Cleary can usually be relied on to turn things around last minute... yet he still seems to be having an off-day.

Well those things are Holland's fault, not Quincey's. 

 

And don't get me wrong he's not performing like I'd hope he would.  All I'm saying is once the ball gets rolling here bashing a player, they get blamed for everything.

Ditto.  I had no idea Quincey had a good +/-.  It's the most useless stat in hockey.

Cleary has been a consistent 30-40 point guy with 15-20 goals for six of his eight seasons with the Wings.  That's pretty solid. 

 

It's just this year he looks completely gassed all the time, especially if he's actually healthy.
