Yeah, I grew up in Indiana, and since there was no team nearby and the Blackhawks mostly sucked during the "Roenick/Belfour Era" when I was young, so everyone was Red Wings fans.
I loved hockey, but I didn't really have a team because local TV didn't carry many games. I mostly just saw highlights on Sportscenter and played the hell out of NHL'95 & '96 on Sega Genesis. From that, I kind of had favorite players but not teams (Adam Oates, Pavel Bure, Alexander Mogilny, Cam Neely, Pat LaFontaine, etc.)
I moved to Columbus about six years ago during the NHL Lockout. I went to a few games, met some players and became the team I follow.
I'm also a Cubs fan, so it kind of fits into the whole "loser" thing I've gotten used to.
