Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard plans to start Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets after he was pulled from the team's previous game with blurry vision.

Howard left in the first period of Tuesday night's 4-3 overtime loss to Nashville after giving up two goals on seven shots.

In other lineup news, forward Jan Mursak is set to play for the first time since opening night, when he injured his collarbone. Defenseman Kent Huskins is also set to replace Jakub Kindl on the blue line.

The projected lineup for Detroit:

Valtteri Filppula - Henrik Zetterberg - Damien Brunner

Daniel Cleary - Pavel Datsyuk - Justin Abdelkader

Tomas Tatar - Joakim Andersson - Jan Mursak

Drew Miller - Cory Emmerton - Jordin Tootoo

Niklas Kronwall - Brian Lashoff

Jonathan Ericsson - Ian White

Kent Huskins - Kyle Quincey

Jimmy Howard

Might as well trade Dats if youre just going to screw him by making him play with crap. That 2nd line is making me want to heave.

no wonder datsyuk wants to go back to russia.

can't blame him.

Beat me to it.

Thanks for posting that info, OP.

That line should be capable of three goals tonite. CBJ , knowing the other two are scrubs, will totally focus on collapsing on Dats, so Cleary will be open to pot one just like last game; Abby can get a garbage goal in a scrum, and Dats will feel the need shred the D to get another one all by hisself.

With my awesome (in my mind only) evalueation skills, I will keep an eye on Mursak, comparing him on that line to NyQ. At this point, I feel like NyQ has more jump, more of a nose for the net and getting open in general, and is a titch more skilled, and is a bit more all round competitive and effective.

Edit: For those of you that know me; No, I am not on medical marijuana or any other mind altering substance. :bye:

Switch Tatar and Cleary and I'd be fine with it.

That or switch Abdelkader and Brunner. Give Z a big body to work the corners and front of the net, give Pav someone who can take advantage of the space he creates.
