Hey man nice shot! 144 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 Dustin Byfuglien: Another rearguard Eklund has Detroit potentially in on, he has three years remaining on his contract after this season with a $5.2 cap hit. He turns 28 later this month and is entering the prime of his career and would provide any team with size and offensive skills from the backend. Both teams will be in different conferences next season and Detroit will likely not extendIan White and his $2.875 million salary past this season.http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Mark-Spizzirri/Whats-viable-and-whats-not-in-Motown-at-the-trade-deadline/77/49921#.UUH_yRzU8lc Seen it figured i would post it here. MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 I'd love Byfuglien here.. one of my favorite NHL players. With that said, I take anything Eklund says with a grain of salt and unfortunately if he's the only one reporting this i'd just write it off as pure speculation at this point. Don't get me wrong, i'd take this guy here in a second, but i'd like to see more guys reporting it before I get any kind of hopes up. 1 Wingsfan72 reacted to this
derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) Isn't Byfuglien one of the cornerstones for the Jets ? I highly doubt they would trade him. If they don't plan to rebuild that is. Edited March 14, 2013 by derblaueClaus
SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 Yeah, the guy's not going anywhere and Eklund is up his ass 99.99% of the time.
DetroitRedWings1993 49 Report post Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) Neither HockeyInsiderr or Eklund know what they're talking about. They just throw crap at the walls and hope it sticks. Darren Dreger and Bob McKenzie are the guys to go to for rumors. Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 16, 2013 First off, Eklund is a terrible source. Second, Byfuglien is more of a forward than a defenseman. As any Jets fan will tell you, he is extremely prone to making boneheaded errors in the defensive zone. 1 HIFI_canadian reacted to this
