Kostitsyn decides to go for a line change instead of guarding a two-on-two.  The result is a shorthanded goal.

The Nashville Predators forward made arguably the most boneheaded play of the NHL season on Sunday night, and it cost his club dearly. When he wasn’t able to control a puck in his offensive end on the power play, Kostitsyn was forced to get back on defense. He started to do so and then inexplicably stopped.

I saw that last night.  The best part of this video is the coaches freaking out on the bench.  I wouldn't want to be Kostitsyn after that goof up.

The only thing I can think of with that is that he was under the impression that it was a 1 on 1 and did not see Petrell coming down the weak side, but even then he just showed serious selfishness right there. If I were Rinne, I would fire a few pucks at him next practice

Thought I saw Bob McKenzie tweet he's gonna be a healthy scratch (error) Tuesday night? If so...

Good.

My wife heard me laughing and wanted to see what I was laughing at.  I showed her the video and then my wife asked me the following:

"Is that the NHL?"

Saw this earlier. Ridiculous decision and I wouldn't want to be in his shoes after the game. I picture Trotz an inch from his face, screaming his lungs out.

Predators coach Barry Trotz summed up the play a different way: "I can't give you a logical explanation for an illogical event."

"Mess up tomorrow, don't mess up now".

Ha. People are always ragging on Franzen but I don't think I've ever seen him do that (I could be wrong I guess.)

I saw this "highlight" this morning on the NHL Network...at first they just talked about the goal and I even said to myself, WTF was that guy doing? He went to the bench while the play was still in front of him...

Funniest thing is when the coaches are pointing and screaming at him to stay out (at :48 of the vid) and then at :54 of the vid they show him looking the other way towards center ice, like "What? I don't see anything!"

Bonehead of bonehead plays!

That's awful.

Best part of the video was Trotz and the assistant coach going crazy on the bench.

That's not boneheaded.  Boneheaded is icing the puck when you only have to take one more stride to cross the redline.

That's quitting on a play because you're tired/lazy.

Incredibly lazy and selfish decision. I can hear Don Cherry now.
