My only question is WTF did Abdelkader have for breakfast this morning?

Not just scores a hat trick but does it like a goalscorer. Going hard to the net from the corner. Nice wrist shot top corner. Then goes down on one knee for the one timer?? :shocking:

vector or course, and a banana

Anyone have a link to videos of the fights tonight? I was not fortunate enough to have been able to take in tonight's game. Please/Thankyou

If I find them I'll post them, but I wouldn't really call them fights...

I think the most accurate way to describe them is "aggressive hugging".

He apparently ate confidence for breakfast. Perhaps he got laid?

Another stinker for Javerage Howard. This guy has let in 21 goals over his past 11 games. Awful!

:P

shhh, the Howie bashers will be upset that you point out that he isn't just average, they will also mention how if howie plays good we shouldn't mention how good he plays...

Anyways great win for us, I hope we keep the momentum going Sunday, and Brunner gets his first hat trick too :P get him off the third line.

I wonder if Monster will get the nod to start between the pipes sunday

he already starts almost every game... Plus they are close to signing him to a long term contract, so it's all but set in stone for him to be, he just has to keep on keeping on

So how much? 5? 6? theres no way he sign for wat Ozzy did

Wow. What a birthday present. Did not expect that kind of performance from Abdelkader at all.

...but to hear him give it up for his linemates is not and one of the reasons why I like the guy on our team.

The Red Wings' forward scored one goal in his first 28 games. But he has five in his past three games.

WHO IS THIS GUY?!?!!

"It was really frustrating, but it's part of the business," said Abdelkader, who signed a four-year, $7.2 million contract on Sept. 14.

"I didn't play anywhere during the lockout and I had a slow start. It took a little bit for me to get my legs underneath me and get my hands and everything going good. I think it took me about 10 games to do that -- and I think I'm speaking for most of the guys who didn't play during the lockout. But thankfully, we won't have to go through it for another eight years."

"I was the beneficiary of some good plays by Johan Franzen and Pavs," Abdelkader said. "It was just one of those games where you keep getting the puck and you just keep shooting. Sometimes the puck will follow you, and maybe that was the case in this game. But I give those guys a lot of credit."

As far as the fights go... I'll take 'em. I'm sure they'll be up on hockeyfights.com before mid-afternnon for those that are looking. Would have been great to see Abby have one. He's going to need to show that side next year. I have to say, heading into our division in the East, we've gotta get some more under our belts.

I watched the BOS/OTT game and man, did it get testy in the third period. McQuaid. Thorton. Campbell.

Lucic. (spotpicker, I know, but who, more than us, is prime for spotpicking.) On the Sens: Neil. Kassian.

We'd need to have Tootoo in the line up for a game like this. He's not a chump. Get him in the lineup.

Also, I wouldn't complain if we happened to get ourselves a guy who can actually fight.

Nice one Captain Hindsight.

I have found that a few of us around here live Red Wing fandom like its 50 First Dates...Someone had to of bought an Abdelkader jersey online after the game and laid $200 that Abby pots 15 more the rest of the year.

So, that really happened, Abdelkader DID get a 'trick? I thought I just had some really absurd dream last night and I had to come here to see if it was real....

But I know that Detroit getting three fighting majors by three different players in the same game wasn't real. It couldn't be.

Kelly Chase kept commenting during the NHLN broadcast of the Wings/Ducks game that the Ducks had an emotional letdown after the Chicago game. Boudreau was having none of that:

Riding high on its win Wednesday against Chicago and the return of Corey Perry from a four-game suspension, Anaheim's franchise-record 13-game home winning streak ended in a thud, as did a League-high 12-game point streak. It was their first regulation loss since Feb. 25 and first home loss since Jan. 25, but no one was pointing to the Chicago game as a factor.

"To me that's an excuse," Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said. "I believe it's an excuse. I don't know why it would be a letdown game. You have a whole 24 hours in between and you're playing the Detroit Red Wings, for crying out loud. I would be jacked up just so I didn't hear their fans cheers in our building. That's embarrassing enough."
