Colaiacovo was removed from injured reserve today, about two months after a shoulder injury landed him there following the Jan. 21 game at Columbus.

From now on, Patrick Roy will be rolled out to and from the Avs' bench like Hannibal Lecter. - BottleOfSmoke

I give it all of 2 games. With that said he could be a pretty good alternative to White.

I can hear Holland now...we kicked the tires with Dekeyser and felt that with Cola coming back from injury, we couldn't offer Danny anything more than a #8 spot behind Kindl and Huskins...

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing him get some games instead of White. Otherwise, this is pretty much a non-factor move.

Wouldn't he head to GR for some conditioning first? I forgot the max time a NHL player can play on a rehab assignment, but send him there for as long as possible. If he plays well, maybe we can trade him.

Don't worry Cola, you'll be back to the safety of the LTIR soon.

I forgot about this guy. I remember everyone saying he would get injured. I knew his history but I thought it was all just hyperbole...

So what's the over/under for him going back on IR? 3.5 games?

I'll take the under.

Unless there was a change to the CBA, but I didn't think guys could be traded during the 1st year of a deal.

They traded Commie last season in his first year here...

I wonder what rule I've been thinking of then? I thought it has something to do about not being able to trade someone in the 1st year of their contract.

You might be thinking of not being able to trade a player for a year after matching another team's offer sheet for one of your own RFAs.
