Buppy 1,720 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 does this year count as one of the 2 years of the contract? I believe if he plays in something like 5 or 6 games (it's an odd number because of the lockout) it burns a year off his contract. Fairly certain it will count as a year regardless. Slide rules only apply to ELCs signed by 18 or 19 year-olds. I don't believe anything changed in the new CBA, but I could be wrong.
achildr1 255 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 ^^^ The near half-billion dollars in that photo would like a word with you. I don't care if he was trolling us...this made me laugh. Great news! Welcome to the best hockey franchise in history Danny D! Awesome:) I don't mean to be a pain but the whole province of Quebec just turned white hot in righteous anger. alienanxiety 23 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 I believe if he plays in something like 5 or 6 games (it's an odd number because of the lockout) it burns a year off his contract. It doesn't look like the Wings plan on even playing him that much this season. His delay in decision was likely because of that factor. I'm sure he'd play every game with Edmonton. Wings, true to form, seem to want to take it slow, per the article below. "DeKeyser will continue to practice with the Red Wings, and Holland feels DeKeyser could ultimately play in a game." http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130329/SPORTS0103/303290459#ixzz2OytyF6BU
Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 Great signing by the RW's. yes it will take him some time to adjust to the NHL. he needs some practice just to learn everyones moves, habits, and the communications on ice. No rush. That does give us 10 Dmen now, so yes some one or ones will be moved in some form or another. On a different note. My gosh. Some of you are just plain silly. Just because you didn't get the info YOU wanted when YOU wanted it, you go off into bizzareland. In fact, I would like to invite all of you guys to my house to play poker. Bring lots of cash. This was DD'd biggest day of his life to date, and HE had all the right to due it whatever way HE wanted to. This day was all about HIM not any of us. You only get one first pro contract. It is kinda like your first kiss, first "time" first job, first love etc..... 2 beachwing and McAwesome reacted to this

evilmrt 636 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 Yes. That is why he signed with Detroit. I heard that he likes pizza. He got 2 little Caesars coupon as a signing bonus from Holland. This is what he got.Detroit owner doesn't have the money. He haven't signed anyone in the last 5 years and never will. Detroit have to wait until his son takes over the ownership, I guess. Wtf are you talking about?? Entry level contracts are capped...
Barrie 900 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) ^^^ The near half-billion dollars in that photo would like a word with you. Great pic, I can't wait for Baseball season! Let's Go Tigers! I don't mean to be a pain but the whole province of Quebec just turned white hot in righteous anger. I wouldn't worry about it, those idiots in Quebec are trying to do away with English (and I'm not kidding), they wouldn't understand it anyway. Edit: As for the signing, I've never heard of DeKeyser until I saw discussions about him on the board, so I guess it's ok. Good to see he picked us out of 8 teams. I guess people still want to play here and we haven't lost our shine yet Edited March 30, 2013 by Barrie

I don't believe anything changed in the new CBA, but I could be wrong. You are probably right. Malik said he believes that as soon as he plays a game, he burns a year. At this point it seems likely that he'll be an RFA after next season. (Which really shouldn't be a cause for concern.)
BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) ^^^ The near half-billion dollars in that photo would like a word with you. As a Brewers fan this hits a little close to home...I don't mind the Tigers though but it definitely shows Mr. Ilitch is willing to do what it takes to win! I was definitely excited when I heard Dekeyser picked the Wings. I saw limited footage of him since I mainly got WCHA games but I'm excited to see what he can bring to the team. Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 Wow he does have some reach on him. It awesome that DeKeyser chose the Wings, and adding him to the defensive youth movement, I'd say we have a really solid defensive core being established for the next Wings' era. Nightfall 871 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 I am cautiously optimistic that Dan is going to make a good impact with the Wings. Maybe not this season, but probably next season. Still, at this point, its great to have a top prospect on the team. 1 Serratoni reacted to this
