Classic Holland.

Overvalues his own players. Under-values others. Expects players to take less money to play in Detroit.

There is a large trend now, of players saying "no thanks" to Detroit.

This was first mentioned publically by Winsewski 2 off-seasons ago, and it came home to roost with Suter and Parise.

Holland will do nothing of significance this off-season either.

Bingo.

Our management needs to realize that we're no longer the premiere location we once were.

5 minutes than its over boys

not necessarily

Holland's ego is getting in the way of some good options that were available and still are

I don't see how anybody on this forum can be happy today...look at the standings basically the top 4 teams in the West stood part for very OBVIOUS reasons. Hawks and Ducks already dominate, Canucks got Roy yesterday, LA Kings just won the cup with the same team. Now Blues, Sharks, Wild, Blue Jackets, Preds

They didn't even really stand pat though.

The Blackhawks acquired Handzus, the Kings acquired Regehr, as you mentioned, the Canucks acquired Roy. So even some of the top teams made moves to fulfill their needs.

Comeau for a 5th to Columbus...Columbus GM knows what's up.

Jay Feaster is useless.

Comeau cost the Flames nothing at all they got him off waivers, and Columbus is just filling the roster spots vacated in the Gaborik trade. This is easily the best deal Feaster made this year.

I actually think the Gabby trade could hurt Columbus more than help it, they were coming along nicely and they lost a lot of depth for a guy with 1 more goal than Dan Cleary.

Why because they got a 7.5 million dollar player with 9 goals, f'ing cleary has 1 less than him

That is a fools way to look at things. Gaborik has scored more than 40 goals in three seasons, including last season. Wings missed out big. Look at the UFA list for next season, how are the wings going to get a top 6 forward now?

Boo to all these teams for "trading away the future" in order to improve now. What a bunch of suckers these guys are. They all need to take a lesson from Holland and do the only reasonable thing, stand pat with an aging team that hasn't been competitive since 2009. Stand pat, it's the wave of the future.

Geeez, this Gaborik trade makes no sense. Why did the Rangers throw away a guy that scored 41 goals just last year? I know he's not doing great this year, but he could easily get hot at anytime and they're still battling for a playoff spot. And why did they get virtually nothing in return? I mean, its like they felt bad for stealing Nash, so they evened out that trade by giving them Gaborik.
