That's bulls***. Many past star players like Zetterberg have found a way to remain effective despite aging. Our own Stevie Yzerman included.

Zetterberg has never been in Yzerman's league at any point in their careers, comparing their play at different ages.

He was better defensively than Yzerman, and that's it. However, that's the problem. What's he going to reinvent? He already is a good defensive forward. That's essentially all Yzerman reinvented after his offensive numbers decreased.

He's just going to get a little worse at everything he does.

i can not believe any wings fans think the wings would actually have a chance agianst these hawks in round 1.

they aren't even in the same league as these guys. hawks would win in 4, easily.

He needs to quit wasting energy floating past scoring areas. He needs to stop at the top of the crease or get to an open area where he can sizzle the puck off a pass without hanging on to it for even a second.

To me, it's obvious that Babcock is the problem for Detroit's lack of offense. The individual talent is there, but the system is not. The system is the coach's responsibility. Why is this team not driving the net, or trying new plays?

They might be, just because he's had very good seasons otherwise. But let's not forget he carried our offense (together with Filppula) for the better part of last year, mainly the last 40-50 games. He was fantastic and over a PPG in that time, making up for his piss-poor first 20 games.

This year he started off awesome, but has slowed down considerable. Probably he's been paying hurt for a while now.

If he could find a way to get back to being a 30+ goalscorer that would be great, but it's not like he's become a bad player.
