It's games like this that further enforce the reason why Z is my favorite player since he came in the league. Favorite all time will always be Stevie but Z is just so clutch it's ridiculous, they needed him to perform tonight and he came through with flying colors

OH. MY. ZETTERBERG....... Not only was he super clutch, he almost got one in the expiring seconds of the 3rd (off the post). I was hoping he would have a big game and wow, did he not will his team to win. Such a beast. Such a boss. THE CAPTAIN ZETTERBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before game: is it possible Z could go without a goal in these playoffs?

After game: ...how could you even think that was a possibility???

When Z and Pav are playing like this, we are difficult to stop despite our...lesser..players causing us trouble.

Also, such heart we played with. Especially Z. Great to see that kind of tradition didn't die out with Yzerman and Lidstrom.

You realize that post was made on April 27th, right?

Babcock's take on Z and Pav

They're huge leaders.  You talk about the leadership on our team -- we had Stevie  and Nick - but those guys had way more help. These guys have had an unbelievable amount of pressure.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Hank and Pavel lead by example in their play and character and that is the tradition established by Yzerman and Lidstrom. I'll take this kind of integrity over the whiney immaturity of Sidney Crosby, no matter how many times he scores, any day of the week. Just like Stevie and Lidstrom, when the twins retire, they will be acknowledged for their skill AND class.

Not a fan of Crosby, but no way you can't respect him as a hockey player.  To come back the way he has from the concussion and the jaw injury is amazing.  He may have complained some when he was younger, (he was a teenager when he broke into the league), but he has matured quite a bit.  He has lead through his play just as much as Zetterberg and Datsyuk.
