Rhah 195 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 I asked in game thread but didn't get a response (and there may not be one)... But did the CBC feed or any highlights show this play? Our beloved NBC didn't deem the play good enough to show a replay of... I am curious how Cleary lost his stick, because, with the way the refs have not been calling stuff, I'd like to confirm with my own eyes how he lost his stick (if it was legal, accident, or ripped out of his hands and a no call by the Hawks). It sucks that he was 1 on 1 with Crawford with just the puck and his skates.

RyanBarnes! 293 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 I believe Roszival fell on it. No penalty in my opinion.
rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 With only my initial look at it, I kind of thought Roszival 'accidentally' fell and held onto it.
Rhah 195 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 Been poking around trying to find a full game online, the breakaway isn't part of any of the condensed highlights.
nosyt612 103 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 CBC showed the replay, Rosival fell on the stick as he and Abby got tangled up before the breakaway. Coulda been a penalty but wasn't a brutal miss call or anything imo.

8 Legged RedWing 367 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 i wanted him to kick it and pick the top corner on crawford Well you can't kick it in or push it in with your hand but I was hoping he would slide it towards the net and then lay down and try to push it in with his helmet 5 hole lol. MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 There should be an asterisk next to the rule that if you go on a breakaway and you have no stick you should be allowed to kick it at the net. As rare as that instance is.. Abby was standing there with no one between him and the goalie all wtf do I do? I elect they revisit this rule and award Abby a free penalty shot to start game 4. 1 kipwinger reacted to this

I believe the KHL doesn't allow goals to count when they go in off any part of your body. A header would be legal in the NHL.When it happened, my first thought was that wouldn't stop Datsyuk. At worst he'd kick it out front in a scoring chance for a trailer, or he'd kick it up in the air and attempt to head it in. wingsfan4795 552 Report post Posted May 21, 2013 Did anyone see karlsson put his skate on top of the puck and kick it to an open man for a scoring chance? That wad sick. Too bad there was nobody for Abby to pass to
Rhah 195 Report post Posted May 22, 2013 Thanks for the vid. Does the stick have to break for it to be called a slash? Or is it judgement and even if it doesn't break you can still get a slashing? Breakage means 100%, judgement otherwise?

Too bad there was nobody for Abby to pass to Z does that fairly often along the boards. He steps on the puck so it's really hard for a guy to dig out with his stick, then he looks around and kicks it to a teammate.

It looks cooler in open ice though
