Franzen needs a goal badly!
Think for yourself. Question authority. Throughout human history as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are or where we are going in this ocean of chance, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself.

Interesting nugget from John Niyo if you're one of those who believes in numbers:

So history suggests they've still got this one locked up, even after Saturday night's clunker in Chicago. In fact, in those 11 previous 3-1 scenarios, the Wings were under .500 (5-6) in Game 5, with all sorts of forgettable flops — a 6-0 shutout loss to Patrick Roy in Colorado in 1997, Jamie Langenbrunner's 70-foot OT softie on Chris Osgood in '98, even the triple-OT loss to Pittsburgh in the '08 Cup Finals. But they were 6-0 in the Game 6s that followed, never allowing a series to get to a winner-take-all seventh game.

Let's go Wings! Get it done tonight!

edit: Tonight reminds me of 1997 versus the Avalanche. Chance to knock off a heavy favorite after they came roaring back at home with their own strong win. Take care of it tonight. End this.

Happy birthday!!  Hope the Wings light the candle (goal light) a lot for you!

This must happen.  Send them packing, Wings, and move on to greater things...

Wings need to come out hard, fire on all cylinders set the tone early and take that series, if it comes down to a game 7 my confidence would reach zero :(

Our desperation level has to exceed Chicago's. Have to treat this as a Game 7 here tonight, gotta be physical, gotta cycle the puck down low, and Howard has to bounce back. I'm confident all these things will happen, we'll end it tonight.

I initially picked the Red Wings in 6 games. I would love for it to be a close game where Chicago has to pull their goalie, to see the crowd go crazy and an empty net at Chicago's end. Make it happen Detroit!

Speed, timely aggression, and FOCUS.  DO what Babcock tells you to DO, boyz, and you got this one.  I just KNOW it.

Tonight we get goals from Franzen, Filppula, Smith, Ericsson and Cola.   Yep, they all be grumpy and they ALL GIVE A s***!!

GO, BELOVED RED WINGS!!!    JUST DO IT!!!

Just need to get back to smart play...make the easy play coming out of our own end and clear pucks. Bad clears cost us 2 goals the other night.

I thought the game was supposed to start at 7:00 (6:00 central)?

Did they move it forward by an hour?

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

From Darren Dreger's twitter. what a punk

Chicago's Jamal Mayers has been fined a half days pay (CBA) for his puck-shooting, pregame antics. Fine works out to roughly $1600.

Mayers fired 4 or 5 pucks through Red Wings players and into their net during warmup prior to game 5. Hence, the fine...for those asking.

Better he shoots them into our net during warm-ups than during the game.

If the Wings get the first goal I think they close out the series today.

Hopefully playing away from the Chicago crowd will keep Captain Intangibles (crying) from getting calls his way.
