Ken Holland & Co. Prospects vs. Steve Yzerman & Co. Prospects

Ok, we gotta have a topic here for the Calder Cup Finals.

Grand Rapids Griffins are taking on the Syracuse Crunch, who are the defending champions (Tampa's affiliate was Norfolk last year). They have only lost 4 total games the past 2 post season, only 1 so far this post season.

I know we were kind of worried/looking forward to this, but with the big clubs. However this should be pretty exciting for Wings fans.

Game 1 Sat., June 8 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m.
Game 2 Sun., June 9 GRIFFINS at Crunch 6 p.m.
Game 3 Wed., June 12 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m.
Game 4 Fri., June 14 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m.
*Game 5 Sat., June 15 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m.
*Game 6 Tue., June 18 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m.
*Game 7 Thu., June 20 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m.

For those that haven't seen it, this is the Playoff intro video the Griffins had at the beginning of the postseason.

And as I said before the 2 most coveted NCAA free agents will face each other for the Calder Cup. Sustr has 5 assists 21 PIMs and is +9 in 12 playoff games.

Athough he hasn't played for them yet, I think DeKeyser should get the start on Saturday.

I thought the Syracuse Crunch were the Ducks affiliate in the last few seasons?

Doesn't that mean their roster and prospect development is more the Ducks doing than it is Yzerman's, being only their first season as Lightning affiliate and all?

For our team, "Hakan Andersson and Co. Prospects" may be more accurate.

I don't think there are more than 3 players on the Griffins who Hakan had anything to do with.

More like Nill and Howe, yeah?

Tampa moved their affiliate from Norfolk to Syracuse for this season and Anaheim's are in Norfolk

Ah, I see.

I noticed there was still someone on the roster who played for the Ducks, but I guess Tampa never picked that player up.
