From NHL:

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner, is staying put.

After rumors flew this past weekend that Bobrovsky might be on the trading block, the team announced Monday morning it has reached agreement on a new two-year contract with its starting goaltender.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the annual average value of the contract is just under $6 million.

Good for them. Dangerous to give him a long-term deal after 1 amazing half-season by him. 2 years is perfect for Columbus.

Yeah, that's a great deal for both sides.  Bobrovsky has the flexibility to go to another market or Russia if he has that inclination in a few years.  And for Columbus, it would take almost 2 years to fully convince themselves that Bob isn't an elite goalie no matter how bad he plays, so this is a nice low-risk deal for them.

Over payed.

Not by today's market value for goaltenders.

Mike Smith got nearly the same amount and for a much longer term.  Plus, Bob won the Vezina so that obviously drove up his value.

Considering the term and the fact that they have no other real options at the position, I'd say it's a fair contract.

You're not off the case, Bobrovsky!
