Holy Overpayment, Batman! Wow. I guess it is tough to get people to come to the swamp.

He's a team icon and the organization's historical leader in numerous categories (including GP, goals, assists, and points), so the Devils had a vested interest in keeping him around for the remainder of his career.

Elias is pretty underrated. Bit dangerous to give a 37 year old a 3 year deal for that much money but he's a good player.

We're about to give Cleary 3 and Brunner 3 insteD of giving Horton 6.

So what does money matter?

Its common sense Holland lacks. Not cap space.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was about Patrick Eaves re-signing or something and thinking WOW. Great.

On topic though not surprised Elias isn't leaving New Jersey as he shouldn't.

Brunner outscored Horton during the regular season---but hey, who cares, right?
