"Cleary is looking for a three-year contract around $3 million per season, and he has garnered interest from almost a dozen other teams."

maybe not! *fingers crossed*

So we don't want Alfredsson because he shot a puck at someone? At least he shoots the puck! We need more shooters, less passers.

Fail, look at his points, they are abysmal. He has never even had a season over 60 points and now he is down to like 30 points over an 82 game season

Big deal. Domi elbowed Niederwhiner in the face, and I didn't have a problem with that.

Niedermayer swung his stick at Worrell's head and picked a fight with Datsyuk. Then there was that fake retirement crap where he and Salami only played half the season to avoid the cap. Also, he was a diver and a whiner.

Guy was a piece of s***.

Alfredsson would INSTANTLY be our 4th best forward, and he wouldn't be under much pressure like he is in Ottawa. Getter done Kenny, trade Sammy and 3rd round pick for a 7th round pick. Clear out the bench warmers!

Sometimes it's good to actually check your facts...

Yeah I was gonna say... 11 seasons over 60 points, 10 seasons over 70 points, 4 seasons over 80 points. Alf was unquestionably an elite forward and a ppg player 4 seasons ago and long before. Still capable of providing some value even at age 40.

Most notably, shows up in the playoffs.

And at 40, his 26 points this past season would have tied him w/ Brunner for the 4th highest scoring forward on the team with a fairly sizable drop to the next in line which was Flip with 17.

Edit: That said, I really don't see him playing anywhere other than with the Sens.
