That is, can he start the years on LTIR and be bought out if healthy? I'm personally hoping that the organization hires somebody to bludgeon him in the ankle today. That is, can he start the years on LTIR and be bought out if healthy? Compliance buyouts can only happen I believe starting 48 hours after the SC Finals are over & the start of UFA season. That said, the Wings can still buy Sammy out during the season but it would be a regular buyout meaning he would still count against the salary cap. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

In Detroit, Weiss could easily put up 60+ points playing with the likes of Zetterberg, Franzen or Alfredsson. I would rather have him over anyone left on the market.
