Is that definitely the case (re #91)?  I hadn't heard that.

Not sure if anything's official, but I would think 91 is at least taboo right now.

Weiss is listed at #90 on the Wings Roster page at RedWings.nhl.com.

And confirmed by the Wings twitter feed on July 16th...

Confirmed: Stephen Weiss to wear number 90 & Wings agreed to terms on 2-year deal with Brendan Smith

"And the best, I must confess, I have saved for the last, for the ruler of this Christmas land,

is a fearsome king with a deep mighty voice, least, that's what I've come to understand.

And I've also heard it told, that he's something to behold, like a lobster, huge and red!

When he sets out to slay with his rain gear on, carting bulging sacks with his big great arms, that is so I've heard it said.

And on a dark cold night, under full moon light, he flies into a fog like a vulture in the sky!

And they call him Sandy Claws!

I'm sure they asked Modano if it was okay to do. ;)

Actually, there was a pretty good twitter exchange from Modano and the Wings about it...

For some reason, my excitement level for Weiss is increasing daily. I hope he turns out to be Flip plus goals.
