You know when anything hockey related in Russia is being "questioned" that it must be real bad. The weird part is the other players, none of them deserve any special treatment. I mean I get it, if you own a KHL team you do everything you can to get a guy like Kovy, but Babchuk or Burmistrov, not sure I bend the rules for them! To do so, he either needs to take a full year off of pro hockey, or if he signs for a team, all other 29 teams must sign off on it. There seems to be a possible loop hole that he could just go back to playing for the Devils to avoid the whole 29 other teams signing off thing. Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Not at all surprising. He made a rash decision(I'm assuming) and now is regretting it. I'm not going into any political discusson here but I believe the downslope of the Russian currency might have something to do with it maybe. Also I'm starting to wonder at what point in his life does this guy think he has made enough money, he might very well have earned more than 60 $ mill. till now. Lamariello let him go and relinquished his NHL rights to allow him to go to the KHL. He's no longer tied to the team. If he comes back for another team, that would make that a bad GM decision.
