as in Steve Chiasson, deceased?

Yeah I don't think he heard the news. Steve Chaison died in a car accident back in 1999

So I'm guessing Stevie Y will be playing!

This was my thought as well. As much as I would love to see Stevie come back and play, my gut tells me it's not gonna happen. Can he even play anymore with no knees?

Never thought of Duchesne... To be honest kinda forgot about him... Makes more sence.

Still hoping it the other though;)
Even on bad knees. It's one celebratory game.

A quick search of Red Wing players named "Steve" leads me to believe that you are right.

The only others, aside from those already mentioned, are:

Black (49-51)

Coates (76-77)

Hyrmnak (52-53)

Maltais (93-94)

Martinson (87-88)

Richmond (85-86)

Short (78-79)

Thomas (02-03)

Wojciehowski (44-47)

Money on the board:  Current total: $6

$1 for a goal by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster.  An additional $5 for a series-clinching goal scored by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster. $5 if the other team fails to score against a current Wing goalie after whom I have named a hamster.

Hamsters I have had:  (current Wings highlighted)

Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik

Niklas Matthew Daniel Robert

Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan

Andrew Patrick Ian Todd

Jordin Damien Gustav James

For whatever it is worth, I believe Duchesne was confirmed with the first set of names released.

And you can scratch Thomas from that list given that he would suit up for the Leaf's alumni if he's there.

For whatever it is worth, I believe Duchesne was confirmed with the first set of names released.

Initial alumni game roster released was:

Mark Howe, D, 1992-95
Chris Chelios, D, 1999-09
Chris Osgood, G, 1993-01, 2005-11
Darren McCarty, F, 1993-04, 2007-09
Dino Ciccarelli, F, 1992-96
Jiri Fischer, D, 1999-05
Joe Kocur, F, 1984-91, 1996-99
John Ogrodnick, F, 1979-87, 1992-93
Kirk Maltby, F, 1996-10
Kris Draper, C, 1993-11
Larry Murphy, D, 1997-01
Mickey Redmond, F, 1971-76
Igor Larionov, C, 1995-00, 2000-03
Mike Vernon, G, 1994-97
Alex Delvecchio, Legend, 1950-73
Gordie Howe, Legend, 1946-71
Ted Lindsay, Legend, 1944-57, 1964-65

And I know Petr Klima, Dallas Drake, Paul Ysebaert, & Garry Unger were added after.

Edit: Looks like the following had also confirmed before it was canceled last year...

Luc Robitaille, Sergei Fedorov, Slava Fetisov, Paul Coffey, Martin Lapointe, Mathieu Dandenault, Aaron Ward, Red Berenson, Jimmy Carson, & Dennis Polonich.

Wonder how much the roster might change given the cancel/reschedule

I think that's right. So it's prolly not Duchesne. And as already stated, Steve Thomas would be playing for the Leafs alumni. My gut is telling me Yzerman will be back wearing the Winged Wheel one more time!!!
