Hey guys,

Recently got a job offer to head back to Michigan (Troy to be exact) after being away for 20 years (don't remember much) and I'm seriously considering it.

Would probably live in the Birmingham area, and just wanted to ask how life is out there these days? Are the burbs still predominantly safe? I'd probably be there for the long haul and just want to make sure its the wise choice to head back.

Opinions welcomed. Thanks!

Seriously?  Is it "safe"?

Birmingham and the surrounding areas (the richest area in the US per capita) are just fine.

Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.
