After losing Kovy they definitely had to sign someone. Looks like Brunner won't be a Devil next season afterall

Yeah if the Devils aren't in the playoff mix around the trade deadline. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets shipped to another team.

Is NJ close to the cap?  Why does signing Jagr rule out Brunner?

Because Jagr will likely get around the same $ he's been getting lately, which is around 4.5M. So unless Brunner is willing to ask for much less than what's being reported, Brunner won't be a Devil

They'll still have about $4.3m in cap space left after the Jagr signing if it is $4.5m/y but given their financial issues & the fact they'll have 14 forwards on the roster, it probably means they're out of the running for Brunner.

trade bait. They just signed a late 2nd round pick in 2014.

Sweet. This dude was brought here for one reason, to punch people in the head - every other thing that he can do, other Wings can do better. I like that we have a head-puncher. The league has other, better head-punchers, but this one is ours. Better than nothing. Good work, Kenny!

Jagr is a mercenary!

As I said in another thread, Jagr loves 2 things.  Money, and playing hockey.  Don't let his love of the former blind you to his love of the latter.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Islanders are next.

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

He did he same last year. Sign with a team that will probably miss the playoffs for more money then get traded to a contender at the deadline.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

The Isles have to be next based purely on geography...he obviously has an interest in playing in every team within the NY metropolitan area/east coast. The Isles would top that off. Watch out for Carolina after that.

Traded to isles at the trade deadline, signs with Carolina next off season.

Lol...this is actually quite probable. NJ should miss the playoffs, NYI will probably make it, and if they do they will (or should) pick up a piece or two at the deadline. LouLam will probably take Snow to the cleaners...all makes sense to me.

So this is #7.  Think he can get 6 more in before he retires?  You know- just to set another record?  Too bad about the KHL years.  He could have gotten in more then.
