This kid has that extra step when you see him with the puck. Once he works out some of the kinks he's going to be special, and we all know it. Great signing.

Was waiting for this thread to pop up. Finally!

Even the thought of Tatar - Helm - Nyquist has me beyond excited.

It would be an incredibly exciting, but unbelievably frustrating line! Helm has hands of stone and Nyquist seems to miss the net with 9 out of 10 of his wristers.

That's what Tatar is there for

Tatar-helm-nyq = shot-speed-hands :P

Ha, reminds me of the supergroup Rod Stewart, Elton John and Freddie Mercury were going to form - Hair, Nose and Teeth was the planned name

I like the signing and that of Andersson, and I'm generally a Ken Holland supporter, however, these weren't the result of any master negotiating. Andersson and Nyquist had few (no) options but to basically take what was offered. I'm taking a wait and see approach to see how the roster bloat is remedied.

Even if we trade Tootoo, Eaves, and Emmerton we're still over the cap

Ken has to do something with Sammy or possibly start the youngens in the minors or something

$3.01 mil is bonus money the can be deferred to next season. Moving any 2 players in trade/waiving Eaves and/or Emmerton gets them below cap.

Yeah I'm wrong. Capgeek wasn't working correctly on my phone.

Trading eaves and toots should work

Alfredssons bonus can be applied to next season?

Yes, Aflie's bonus can & most likely will be applied to the 2014-15 season. If all bonuses are deferred, the Wings actually sit at roughly $640k over the cap ceiling at the moment so just trading Tootoo or Eaves alone would get them back under. They have to get rid of 2 players to get back to the 23 man roster limit though, not to just get under the cap.
