Journey, far and away is my favorite indie game. Everything about it is fantastic, the art direction, the soundtrack, the emotion. For a game with no spoken words, you find yourself caring an awful lot about the fate of your character.

Amazing game. Highly recommended.

True indie games that are favorites of mine include Fez, I Made A Game With Zombies In It, Beat Hazard and Solar.

"Arcade" games are a guilty pleasure of mine, I own about 190 on the Xbox Arcade. Just to name a few, Iron Brigade, Castle Crashers, Torchlight, Worms Armageddon, Geometry Wars, Minecraft, Fusion: Genesis, and Renegade Ops top my list.

This. Journey is not only one of the best Indiegames but among the best games I've ever played. A great experience.

If you can convince some friends to team up with you try out Guns of Icarus. You team up to fly a steampunk-airship in combat against other crews. Great fun, but requires good teamplay and can therefore be pretty dull and frustrating when playing on your own.

Have played it now and agree it is great. Another great game i have played as of late is brothers....It has been on sale on steam recently. If you have time and a little cash i suggest giving it a go.

I picked up "Brothers" last week when it was on sale for Xbox Gold members, It wound up being about $4.50. I haven't played it yet as I bought a bunch of games last week and haven't gotten to it yet but the demo showed a lot of promise.

The Wolf Among Us is another interesting indie game, made by Telltale Games, the guys that made the award winning Walking Dead game last year.

If Iron Brigade counts, I enjoyed it immensely, great freebie for Xbox gold a while back, and the DLC was well worth the $5. I still need to survive 30 waves on Settlement to max the achievements, when I was playing regularly The guys I played with and I could only get to 28.
It's pronounced "Zim" not "Exim". Aw heck with it, just call me Scott.

Survive to wave 30 is the only one I need as well, I have a couple of friends that want this as the last achievement also. Maybe the 4 of us could meet up one night and knock it out.

Using the highest grade Sniper Turrets and dual Albert Snipers I was able to get to wave 26 solo, so with some support of people who know what they are doing and are familiar with the game we should have no problem.

Iron Brigade is something I bought when it first released as i'm a fan of Double Fine games, and it quickly became one of my favorites. The 2nd free game this month, Toy Soldiers Cold War is also similar to Iron Brigade as a tower defense style with action elements allowing you to control units and turrets on the battlefield. That's another one i'll gladly offer up assistance on once it releases on the 15th, I own it as well.
