Standouts:

Good - Tatar, Datsyuk, Howard, Dekeyser, Kindl, Ferraro

Bad - Cleary, Samuelsson, Smith

Nice game, though the Pens really didn't seem to bring it. Barely noticed Crosby.

Almquist says Hi.

Almquist says Hi.

He's so small he tends to get lost in the crowd.

Almquist was ok too... I noticed Crosby... being the same crybaby cheap shot artist he's always been - Hockey Brat.

LOL.

And of course, Cleary and Sammy the only two forwards with a minus.

Really?  I see that he had one penalty and 2 assists.

How does Sammy have a minus? He had an assist and Pit only scored once?

I don't think Sammy actually looked that bad. He was average. Took some pointless shots that could be picked like cherries but he was jumping into the rush and making decent passes. Cleary looked below average. He floated all game and if I wasn't actually looking for him, I wouldn't have noticed him out there besides for turning the puck over once or twice.

Just looking at the box score.

Sammy might be wrong as he is also credited with an assist and Pittsburgh only had one goal, which should even it out and make him finish even.

If thats so, then Cleary is the only forward who finished with a negative. HAH.

Some turnovers and moments of looking lost. Didn't stand out as being horrible but I definitely noticed him in a negative way.

Sammy was terrible on the PP. 5-on-5 he was mediocre.

I was really looking forward to seeing him, he looked weak, needs to put weight on, tried hard though

How did Mantha look?

Weak and unready for the NHL. His success at the OHL level came from finding the sweet spots on the ice---a la Brett Hull---but he's neither strong nor experienced enough to do that at the NHL level yet. He brought his OHL game to an NHL environment and was shut down hard.

And Jarnkrok?

Just like Mantha, he didn't do well. He is even more inexperienced than Mantha, having never played the North American game, and he has the added weakness of being very understrength. He was barely noticeable.

Andersson was also -1

He didn't earn that minus. He clearly takes the defensive side of his game very seriously, and did nothing wrong on that play.
