4th line is kinda scary. Too bad about TaterTots, but he'll get his chance eventually, I hope.

Here's hoping Alfie will shame Mule into actually playing.

As for the Sabres, you can't ever count them out, but I suspect there's a lot of unhappy campers there right now, including Miller. He has seen what has gone before with that franchise expecting a stellar goalie to carry the team. Wings win by 3 goals (Datsyuk, DeKeyser, Alfie)

Awesome GDT, Mike.

In an ideal world, we kick some serious butt. Little Miller scores on Big Miller. Big Miller is sad. Little Miller convinces him to join us at the trade deadline, by which time the Sabres are out of it anyway. We go into the playoffs with a goalie tandem of Howard/Miller (hopefully freshly off US gold).

We win the Cup.

Not too lofty expectations for the first game of the season, are they?

Tatar will be a healthy scratch (which sucks ass). So, fourth line is Miller-Emmerton-Samuelsson.

What, nobody claimed Emmerton off waivers? Shocking. And he'll get the call over Tatar or Tootoo (boy that sounded funny)? Oh goodie, can't wait!

But it's still nice to have hockey back, Abdelkader on the 1st line and Emmerton on any line and all. Too bad the season could not have started right, with a Chicago loss.

So NBCSN is calling this a rivalry game. So I guess the word rival is officially meaningless.

I hope Kronwall and his defensive partner rival Ericsson have a strong showing.

Maybe Weiss and his rival winger Franzen can get into gear early. :glare:
