Can a head coach be an enforcer?

Also, this sorta reminds me of Crawford-Bowman.

Not on the Red Wings.  It takes five guys to make a power play squad.

(Well, technically ten, but you know...)

Reminded me of Crawford-Bowman too.

Also, the really funny thing here is that everyone and his mom had been making jokes about how Roy's going to go after someone (as in the turtle brawl) in his very first game. I don't think many actually thought it'd happen, though.

Just another in a long line of bush league moments both playing and coaching for Pat Roy

I hate Roy, and I hate Perry, but seeing him jawing at him which lead to the Boudreau confrontation was wicked.

He didn't even make it through his first regular season NHL game as a coach without completely losing his mind.

Too funny.  Maybe he'll surprise me but him coaching seems bad for the Avs.

Great to see Patty Wah back in the big show.  No one blows gaskets like he can, and even though it only took one game to witness his first 'episode' it's not all that surprizing given the Ducks propensity for bush league antics.

Perry squirted Roy with his water bottle as well.

@Proteautype: From now on, Patrick Roy will be rolled out to and from the Avs' bench like Hannibal Lecter.

Glad I'm not the little women waiting for Patty to get home where he could really blow some steam off. I can't see him lasting the year.  Fired, breakdown, exhaustion, suspension something will bite him.

Even if he had a legitimate reason to blow up, Roy is still a ******. Nothing can change that.

EDIT: Wait, I can't say the word "d o u c h e" on here?

I think every team in the NHL should just troll the hell out of Roy now to see how quickly he suffers a complete mental breakdown.  Institutionalized by the Olympic break or earlier?

The mods are not fond of it when you add spaces to put the censored words in, in order to circumvent the filter. Just a heads up

Ask Mrs Roy what happens when you cross Patty....

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Roy is a moron who is prone to throwing temper tantrums like a spoiled little child.

We all already knew this, so it was only a matter of time until things like this started happening...

Good thing the Avs didn't start the season at Montreal.  That torch-passing thing looked the Habs did might have looked too much like the Statue of Liberty.

Ah, Roy is pretty amusing. However, he can't possibly do that all season long without having a crack-up.

Me thinks this might be a tactic to get the Avs fired up, much was said last season about the team's apathetic attitude and lack of passion.

Well, at least Roy is bringing some life back to the organization. Fans seemed to like it.
