"Rally in Raleigh" - How has no one used this in their recap story?

DeKeyser plays like he's been in the league for 10 years, absolutely rock solid out there. We're very lucky we got this guy on the roster.

Calm down there newf buddy, I didn't praise Dekeyser either. Smith had a few turnovers that were caused by overthinking it, and a couple of plays at the point where he could've put it on net but paused for a second and it was going the other way. I know his reputation your talking about, but that's not me. I like the guy, already said in the GDT I believe he can turn out like Ericsson in the long run, just for now he's a big of a work in progress.

Probably came across as more condescending than I meant to but honestly there is no reason to even bring up his play as bad last night. He created offensive chances and made no real defensive mistakes. The goal he was on the ice for he played it perfectly against a pretty good player and Quincey messed up royally. I've actually seen some people say he was one of the wings better players last night and even had him as a star (I think he was solid but not top 3) the only reason people would be saying anythnig bad about his play is because hes getting the Ericcson treatment where everyone hates on him and watches for one little thing he does wrong. Smith played like a second pair dman last night

So does Cleary.

Playing on the top line should primarily involve skill, not just being a hard worker.

Not saying, Cleary has the skill either.  I'd put Alfie or one of the young kids there.

Typically, I would agree with this, but not when the other two players are Z and Dats.  The biggest help the third linemate can give them is getting to the net and staying out of the f*cking way.  Keeping a player or two away from these guys and screening the goalie is all those two need to put the puck in the net.  Z and Dats' linemate solely needs to be hard to move and be able to make a redirect.

It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

"They are the best team in the world. They are a team that can just take over when they want to," Chicago's Patrick Kane said (of the Detroit Red Wings).

There are a lot of Michigan natives that now live in North Carolina due to a better job market. Not surprising at all that we took over their building...

I'm not sure what Emmerton is doing at 0:20. Does he have a shank?

And he needs to dig pucks out of the corner, a good pressure forecheck, set some picks... Imho, Abby is an excellent compliment to Dats and Z. Not EVERYONE on the line needs to score a point per game to have a successful line. Like Datsyuk said about Abby, “It’s like there is somebody who needs to pull the piano and somebody needs to play the piano, This is a guy who is one of the guys who pulls the piano.”

I don't remember much of the game. I spent most of the night inebriated, trying to figure out how to take a selfy. :(

I think of him as a high first-round draft pick. Maybe even a first overall.

I'm not sure but whatever it was he definitely violated Kronner's ass with it.

So I sort of half-interestedly re-watched (NHL Network). Didn't know it was Alfie with the blind man's assist on Z's equalizer. He - Alfie - was so psyched on the bench. It looked like he gave Z a big ol' butt slap, and then he did a super slide to the right on the bench. It was cool to see him so happy.

We were soooo lucky to come out of there with two points. Sooooooo lucky.

It was good play, not luck.

It was both, but heavy on the luck.

Zetterberg's shot deflects right to Abdelkader (I'm sure he planned it that way), and his other shot - while he did hit the spot he was generally aiming for - wouldn't go in for him eight or nine times out of ten. And also, Alfredsson's pass to Zetterberg was borderline blind. And the 'canes had a ton of chances, not all of which didn't go in because "We're just that good."

Point being, ZOMG THE WINGS SUCK. LOOK AT ME, CRYMSON, I'M POINTING AT THE WINGS AND SAYING THEY SUCK. HA HA HA HA.
