BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) Federov is reportedly playing for CSKA Moscow on Friday. Link: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=433754 Weird to think he's only the same age as Selanne. This is something I'd like to see. vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 Fixed the title for you. I'm sure Feds will skate fine. Too bad his career went down the tubes once he left the Wings.
dragonballgtz 273 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 I wonder how he will do. Yes, he might be the same age as Selanne (Fedorov will be 44 by years end though) but he did not age as gracefuly. Selanne got better after the 04-05 lockout, Fedorov career went to the craper after the lockout. Still, good luck to ya Fedorov! 1 Rivalred reacted to this
BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 When I first read the beginning of the headline of the first article that reported this on twitter, it was something like "Fedorov to take final curtain call..." I got OVER THE TOP EXCITED thinking he was confirmed for the alumni game. Needless to say there was some disappointment involved. 1 jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 A league MVP twenty years ago with 120 points you would've thought that he'd remain a point-per-game for the rest of his career. I wonder what happened.

Link: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=433754 Weird to think he's only the same age as Selanne. This is something I'd like to see. What's weird about him only being the same age as Selanne? He's actually a year older and at this point, Selanne has only played 1 more year than Fedorov...will be 2 after this year. Fedorov actually played in the NHL until he was 39 and then played a few more years in the KHL after that. 1 wingedominance13 reacted to this
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 I loved Feds, and was broken-hearted when he left us. Would be cool to see him skate again, I have no doubt he can still play. Can Dom be far behind?

I guess since Selanne stayed relevant for longer I just thought Feds was a little older than that. I honestly didn't pay too much attention to the end of his career, so I didn't even realize he just recently stopped playing.

amato 3,210 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Any word on the contract? Let me be first: overpayment. Well since he'll be giving it to himself.... Haha GM feds should trade player feds to another team then not report to that team. Free player! Boom deal 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
Kira 451 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 I was wondering about that. Can he trade himself to another team? And will he bench himself if he's playing lousy? 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Bring him back Kenny. If only for one game. Let him retire as a wing and then put his number up there. Love Feds. Hope he kicks ass in the KHL.

sibiriak 84 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 A league MVP twenty years ago with 120 points you would've thought that he'd remain a point-per-game for the rest of his career. I wonder what happened. Serious back and elbow issues happened. Back problems were the reason he retired the first time. How the hell can you be the GM and a player at the same time? I guess anything goes in Mother Russia... Same way as you can be an owner and a player, e.g. Mario Lemieux. I guess anything goes in Mother America... I was wondering about that. Can he trade himself to another team? And will he bench himself if he's playing lousy? He was asked about it in a n interview, He joked that Fedorov the GM will put a no trade clause in the Fedorov the player contract.
BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Wait....ISN'T he confirmed for the alumni game? I remember reading a bunch of stuff saying he'd be there. He was confirmed for the original alumni game when it was supposed to take place last year. The lockout took a s*** on everybody, and now we don't know if he'll be playing this year. Number19 159 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 Cool, it's true he lost a step if not several after the lockout but it's not like he had much help. Lots of years wasted away on bad Blue Jacket teams and he still scored a huge game 7 goal for the Caps before he left.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted October 11, 2013 He was dominant in his last couple of international tournaments. I think it was 08 when they won the gold and Feds was on another level, just brilliant. He didn't lose the ability to play.
