I don't remember the last time I saw the Wings respond to this kind of adversity for a full game. Some days they just look plain flat. Not today.

"The leader must never close the gap between himself and the group. If he does, he is no longer what he must be. He must walk a tightrope between the consent he must win and the control he must exert."
Vince Lombardi

When asked who won, Babcock said, “Well it doesn’t really matter as long as you don’t lose. It’s like going bear hunting, you take a slow guy with you in case the bear is hungry.”

Give me a break guys, that was most definitely a boarding penalty...every single day of the week.  I'm as much of a homer as the next guy, but c'mon.

p.s. Don't worry though, Dan Cleary is going to take care of this.

Maybe we wouldn't questing a bit of acting if we actually got one of those fabled things referred to as a power play this game.  The reffing has been complete garbage.

This offseason will determine whether Ken Holland should still be employed with the Wings organization.

Please put Smith on the Power Play!

Bad bounce.

Yeah, especially for a guy right in front of the net with no one around him. I didn't know pucks go there.

Really hard fought win! Nice to beat a Boston team after last night.

... and having to watch the Boston feed, I got to see last night over, and over, and over, and over again.

Wings were given no chance after they went up 3-1 due to reffing when even strength they were the better team

HELL YES

I think I had, like, 17 heart attacks in the third. Holy crap.

And what is this no penalties against the *BIG BAD* Bruins bulls***?

I just want to repeat his one more time...

As far as reffing goes, this is one of the most ridiculously and obviously biased games I've seen in the last couple years.\\\

The refs should be utterly ashamed of themselves for this spectacle.

This game was just completelyf****** absurd.  We won only despite the refs best efforts to throw this game the other way.

That was a hell of a finish, I was able to catch the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. Just about had a heart attack. Pavel and Z were all over the place, looked like everyone had quite a bit of spring in their step which is awesome. Tukka Rask got bowled over a few times as well which was pretty hilarious

Anybody know who kicks so much ass?

Good game.  Supported the goalie.  Looked alive.  A bit of Eurotwin magic.  Good PK.

Keep it up, Wings.  Looking good.

Money on the board:  Current total: 0

$1 for a goal by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster.  An additional $5 for a series-clinching goal scored by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster. $5 if the other team fails to score against a current Wing goalie after whom I have named a hamster.

Hamsters I have had:  (current Wings highlighted)

Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik

Niklas Matthew Daniel Robert

Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan

Andrew Patrick Ian Todd

Jordin Damien Gustav James

Are you guys suggesting that the refs wanted Boston to win?  Or that they missed calls.

I'll agree that some of the calls were poor, but you're taking a huge leap to suggest that they either wanted Boston to win, or wanted Detroit to lose.

Conspiracy theories are stupid.

Best game so far... lines looked good - they're working.

Franzen had a good game... Cleary worked his butt off... great PK work by Miller and Glendening.

And Monster had himself a game.

Mikey likes it

Good thing they held on. I didn't want to come up with an excuse for postponing my meeting in 20 mins.

some missed calls? I would like to point out the fact that Detroit got no PP's, had a few very weak calls against them, and Boston got away with a lot
